This semester Jianna had the ability to work alongside Kimball and West High to better improve our schools! She believes that this was an opportunity to help our Leadership class get more ideas to learn how to make our schools more involved. She also enjoyed the unity that the leadership involvement day brought between Tracy, Kimball and West High. She liked that they all put aside their differences to work together. Everybody there was working to improve their own leadership skills. Jianna says they did that by getting into groups and all stepped up with their leadership skills to come up with spirit days that our schools can use eventually. In those groups there was many differences, however she says they all communicated through their differences to unit as one idea. Jianna says that they all were very supportive in all the decision making and heard everyone out.
Standard 2.1
As these last few weeks of school come to an end Jianna has picked her college and major. She set a short term plan while deciding were to go and how to get there. This plan consisted of how she did in her final months of high school. She always had one college that she wanted to attended and by using her short term personal goal plan she was able to get into her first choice of school. Her short term plan was all about focusing on school and grades to finish strong in her classes. Without focus it would have been difficult to execute her plan of good grades. With that being said this moves into her long term personal goals plan. She got into The University Of Nevada Reno where she will be majoring in pre- nursing. Jianna's long term plan is to graduate high school, go to college, get into the nursing program and become a pediatric nurse. She still has a lot to go but for now she is on the right track. Without the help of THS leadership Jianna does not know how she would have done any of this. Leadership has helped Jianna become more outgoing and more prepared to try new things.
Communications:
Standard 1.5
This semester Jianna finished up her Agricultural scientific Academy project. For her project she made baskets to donate to Environmental Alternatives FFA which is a foster agency. To wrap up the project she had to complete a portfolio basically giving all the information and research to her project. The portfolio included pictures of the baskets, classwork of previous years at Tracy High School, a resume, and all the research that she has over the process of the project. This is an example of her communications because in order to complete the project she had to do a lot of communicating with the agency and adults who have been involved with foster kids to get a real life idea of information that she could use. The communication was a key part because without it she would not be able to finish her Ag/ Sci project to the best of her ability.
Standard 4.2
This semester there was a motivational I can help assembly that Jianna Palmer had the honor of being apart of. During the assembly Jianna was apart of crowd managing by speaking in front of the school to engage the crowd. The words she had to speak were very much appropriate for the context of the assembly.
Government: Standard 4.1
In leadership we have meetings every Thursday to approve things for the school. These meetings are doe with everyone in our leadership class. We also hold senior class meetings which help us come up with new ideas for the class of 2023. In those meetings we discuss upcoming events and fundraising ideas. Every senior in the class works together including Jianna to help better the senior class of 2023. These meetings are important so that the activities such as dances or rallies can be perfect!
Standard 2.3
With every event that the senior class puts on there are always rules and protocols to listen to and make sure to follow. With that being said every event is thought all the way through and makes sure there are no errors once they are announced, she helps make sure that each event is done right so that every student can enjoy it in every way possible!
Business & Finance: Standard 3.2
In leadership there are many fundraisers we do to make sure we have enough money for the fun events planned throughout the year. Anytime our class has fundraisers we advertise it on our Tracyhighbulldogs2023 instagram account. This helps so that he correct information can be informed to other students. Without the help with publicizing the fundraisers we would have not as good as an outcome then when we do publicize it.
standard 3.3
As Vice president Jianna Palmer helped put together the senior drive in. This event helped bring together our class for one of our last few events but it also was is considered a business and finance it had to do with spending our senior class money in a way that the whole class could enjoy. This event was strictly targeted towards the senior class and from what is looked like this night, everyone enjoyed themselves.
Civic & Service Learning: Standard 3.2
For my civic and service learning standard Jianna volunteered her time for a couple months to make her senior project which was donated to Foster Children. This community service experience help Jianna get more engaged with our community. She ended up making 18 baskets in total, 8 for newborns, 4 for infants, 4 for a kid, 4 for teenagers, and 2 for adults. Throughout this project Jianna worked, learned and helped with and for the community of Tracy.
Standard 3.1
Jianna Palmer was able to meet Motivational speaker Monti Washington. She was able to take in the wise words that he spoke to our student body. As a community leader in numerous communities she was able to gain the information told to her by Washington and relate it back to her school.
Technology & Digital Citizenship: Standard 4.1
Being apart of leadership it is very important to always be attentive and focused on everything. It is also important to be participating in anything and everything the class does. Every time an important event comes up it is always posted on our class instagram where we then have to repost it so that the information gets sent out to the rest of our class!
Standard 3.1
With the use of technology, you need to be sure to advertise events on social media correctly to catch the student bodies attention. With this being said, Jianna Palmer as Senior class Vice President was one of the students in charge of the Seniors drive in movie. They had to make sure the visual of the post was eye catching to make the students want to attend so that they don't miss out on one of their last few opportunities to participate in the last few senior events.
